4 Reasons You Need to Have a Blogging Niche

It Differentiates Your Blog and Makes You the Ultimate on Your Subject
I didn’t really think about the importance of this until now but if you ask me which blog I’d go to if I need tips on blogging it’d be Problogger. Why? Because the blog is based around the blogging niche and I’m always certain of reading about blogging anytime I get there. If you ask me which blog I’ll go to whenever I’m in need of copywriting or marketing tips it will be Copyblogger because that is its niche and if you ask me which blog I’d go to when I’m in need of traffic generating tips it will be Think Traffic because the blog is based on traffic generation.

The truth is, I won’t visit any general blog when I’m in need of help because they don’t have solutions to my problems, I’d rather use Google.
People always have problems they need tips and solutions for and the only thing that will ensure they always visit your blog is you having consistent solution to their problems. That is why if you start a blog based on fishing, people will visit your blog first when they think about fishing. It is very easy to want to start a blog about so many niches, but being specific will help you on the long run.
You Can Easily Position Yourself as an Expert
When it comes to taking advice, suggestion or crediting sources the reality is that people take experts more serious than general people. If a PR expert is giving me tips on getting my blog in the media I will take what he says more seriously compared to receiving the same tips from someone who gives tips on everything.
If a particular subject is what you sleep and wake up to people will see you as someone who knows everything about that subject and if they are in need of help you will be the first person they will get in touch with.
It Ensures Visitors to Your Blog Stick
It will be easier for you to get visitors and subscribers that stick to your blog if you focus on a specific niche compared to if you decide to go into multiple niches. The reason is that people can hardly bear with getting information on different subjects compared to getting information on a particular subject they really love and are really interested in.
It Makes it Easy for You to Make Money Online
Just take a look at someone like Darren Rowse who makes hundreds of thousands of dollars when he launches a product and also at someone like Brian Clark who makes millions whenever he launches his products. What do you think is the key to both of them achieving huge success whenever they launch? The only reason is because they have been able to position themselves as an authority in one field and people take whatever they say seriously.
